Condemn the NRA

Congressman Yoder, I'm a pediatrician. My job is to keep kids' lives safe. Since you've been in office, there have been 188 shootings at schools in the United States. Since you've been in office, 200 schoolchildren have been murdered in their classrooms. Thousands more have been injured. This is not okay. Kids should not go to school wondering Am I going to be next? You've taken $85,000 from the National Rifle Association and you've paid the NRA back with votes that give you an A rating. Give that money back and promise us you'll take no more. How many kids have to be murdered before you decide that it's not okay to side with the NRA? Kevin Yoder, the blood of these schoolchildren is on your hands. Enough is enough. I'm asking you to support five common sense gun control measures that most people in your district support. Number one, ban the sale of high capacity magazines. Number two, ban sales of assault weapons to anyone under 21. Walmart did it. Dick's Sporting Goods did it. You can do it. Show some leadership. Number three, mandate background checks for all gun sales, including private sales and gun shows. Number four, no fly, no buy. People who are too dangerous to get on an airplane should not be able to buy an assault rifle. And finally, most important, number five, fund research by the CDC and the NIH on gun-related deaths. Unless you do something, the shootings will continue. And unless you do something, more children
